RE: ATM woods
FYI, there is a third designation for plywood of this genre, Finnish Birch, in
addition to Baltic Birch and Appleply.

Subject: ATM woods
Hi all,
I just picked up a used 16" f/4.5 dob (Meade Mirror) with a very
heavy and clunky mount. I am planning on building an "obsession style"
dobsonian mounting for it a la Kriege's book, but I am having trouble
finding some of the woods he recommends (specifically ApplePly and Baltic
Birch). I've found one supplier of ApplePly in my area, but he doesn't
carry it in the 5/8" thickness recommended by Kriege for my size scope.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a supplier in the Boulder/Denver
area? Or perhaps an alternative wood that had worked successfully for one
of you?
thanks,
Josh
