Re: ATM 6" Mirror

To All who replied.

Tried adjusting EVERYTHING last night. rotated, adjusted, collimated, It has
to be in my mirror. I did rotate the mirror a quarter turn in one direction
and did rotatet the pitch a quarter in another. How do you ( rotate the
tilting lens with the eyepiece )? I used a ronchi for my testing and all I
saw was straight lines. The support system uses a three point cell and is
held on with wooden supporters. I remounted the mirror last night and nothing
seemed to work! It might be the cool effect like Bill said because I leave
it in my HOT garage all day! So tonight I will leave it out all night and see
what happens. I will also try to adjust the secondary. Amazingly I think my
system has no coma because I see a bunch of stars Its just the brighter ones
are just stretched. My 6" is better than full thickness it is 1.25" thick!
I got my 1.3" secondary at Orion and it said 1/10th wave so I think it is
optically flat. Also I did test for parabola and I have a good parabolic
mirror. But I guess more accurate results would be on a Focault tester. I
have a Slitless type but dont know how to use it.

Thanks to all,
Tony
