Optically, you have done almost nothing to your mirror.  A small scratch is 
completely unimportant.  But you have changed the aesthetics of the mirror, 
which might be very important to you.

I have found that shallow scratches will polish out.  There's some chance 
your's will.  I suggest that you continue polishing and if the scratch is 
still there, then so be it.  If you can't stand the scratch because it 
bothers you, back to fine grinding.
