There's more..

Guy in Boston bought 5000 tons of 1" steel cable from from
the gov't, free for shipping but he HAD to get it off the
premises (US Navy yard) by a certain date.

The stuff was used anti submarine netting for Boston
Harbor, welded together in 100' x 100' x 3' squares
in one big pile....

Also,

A company I worked for got a 'new' 2' excess ventilation
fan, for $20 + shipping (fob), a used fan was to be part of
the deal.

It arrived on a flatbed truck, with 'oversize' flags and an
escort. Ir was in a crate 12' on a side 4' thick, the used
fan was 10' diameter, the 2' one was also inside.

There is no doubt this deal 'sucked' (vs 'blew')..;)
