Re the lathe/mill thread:

A few years ago I was browsing a military surplus listing
under the category of 'machine tools' & came across the
following:

3-axis milling machine, capacity 80 x 120 x 180,
free for shipping costs...

Found out the dimensins were in FEET, it was used
to machine engines for ships..
