ATM: Continue Polishing or Back to Fine Grinding?
All,
My 10" F/6 mirror seems to have a fair sized ledge on the outter zone which
has been confirmed by foucault and ronchi tests. I see ~.85" of variation
from my 1st zone measurement to my 5th zone measurement. Is this something
that can be tackled with continued polishing (I've been trying for a long
time now) or should I bite the bullet and drop back to fine grinding?
Progress seems slow or non-existant with polishing and my gut feeling is
that I'll save a ton of effort if I invest a short time in fine grinding.
Thanks,
Adam R.
