Hi Larry,
I'd love some help. Maybe we could even grind one for both of
us. From what I'm seeing in the replys, I maybe should get a thicker
blank. The glass shop around the corner from me says I can get a 3/4"
thick piece for $13.50 a sq. ft. so I may purchase another blank.
I am having to same trouble with "picturing the stroke" as you
described. I belong to the Texas astronomical society of Dallas and
they have a sub-group of telescope makers in it. They're monthly
meeting is this Friday night in Plano. I'm going to try to go and get
involved with them to get some tutoring. If you would like, you can
tag along and we can both find the place and the group together ( I
haven't been to a meeting yet ). I went to my first new member
meeting this last Tuesday and found it very interesting. I think this
is going to be a lot of fun.
I have an almost complete workshop with quite an assortment of
tools, so we shouldn't have any problem with that, and I love to make
things with my hands.
Looking forward to talking with you,
Jerry
