ATM Comet-sweeping Telescope

Hi,

It's know that 16" f/4 would give a smalled fielf of
view than an 8" f/4. Right? Now, for comet hunting, an
8" f/4 would make a great scope. The problem is the
limit of magnitude of the comet. That's why I thought-
Is it a good idea to build a 16" f/4, and on it will
"sit"  as a finder an 8" f/4? I know that the sweeping
might be clumsy, because of the size, but I'll have
also big fields, and higher mag!
