ATM New Slevogt Images

I hope that this post is not too far off-topic,
but I wanted to share with you some images
taken with a camera made by an ATM. For
those of you who don't know of this project,
the mirrors and corrector plate of this concentric
Schmidt Cassegrain were ground, polished and
figured by myself. So, it can be done with
some persistance and the will to finish it!

The following images were taken from dark skies
in SE Arizona. I have uploaded both medium
and higher resolution images of the M8/M20
region and the M24 region, and a medium
resolution image of the Antares/ Rho Ophiuchus
 region.

The first image, M8/M20, was photographed on
unhypered PPF, 120 format, using a 30 minute
exposure. Recall that my camera is photographically
about f/5.5 and has a 9.25" clear aperture. The first
URL will download the smaller image (about 100K)
and the second will download the larger image (about
250K). In the smaller image the stars are a bit
smeared whereas the larger image gives you a bit
better idea of the richness and resolution that is
present on the negative.

The next set of URLs will download a 26 minute exposure
 of M24 taken on E200, 120 format.

Finally, the following URL will download a 55K image of
the Antares region. A 20 minute exposure was used on
 E200 120 format film.

Thanks for taking a look! Your advice and encouragement
over the past year and a half made this camera possible.
