ATM 8"- space & earth

Hi,

Lets say we have 2 identical scopes, 8" in the size,
with a CCD camera which can capture images also in
various wavelengths. Now let's say the one telescope
is orbiting Earth, out of our atmosphere, and one is
sitting on the ground on Earth. How much difference in
quality of observing & photos will be between both
scopes? Is it a big difference, in that size of
aperture?
