I've looked through a 12.5" bino - it was amazing - so I'm sure you would
find the views through a 24.5" binoscope to be all the more awesome. As you
surmise, it would be a huge project, but what the heck, so is a 24.5" f/8!
One thing for sure is that climbing a 16 foot ladder in the dark takes some
getting used to. A somewhat safer alternative would be to make the mirror a
f/4 and use a 2x barlow. Not only that, it would be a more manageable scope
to build and use.

That aside, build what *you* want - it is too easy for all of us to say
whatever we might do, but you're the one putting in all the effort. Plus,
there's nothing quite like building a scope and having it turn out just as
you imagined.
