Star Test Question

I'd like to get inputs on how I'm interpreting my star test. I have a 10" f/6 Newt. which I have star tested on several different occasions now. What I see is that the out-focus pattern shows distinct rings, the outer one being bright and the central region darkened. When I move inside focus the center of the pattern is bright and the diffraction nulls become less distinct. My quess is that it is overcorrection. I've tried masking off the outer 1/2" of the mirror, to rule out TDE, with no significant effect. Any guesses out there in atm land? Thanks!
