I was in LA for a week a year or two back and visited this place and dropped off three pieces of glass on Wednesday. I picked them up Friday afternoon, 88% more reflective than when I left them (4+88). Be sure to talk to Richard (I think that is who it was) and tell him that you are an ATM and he will give a discount off the published prices. The coating has a few more pinholes than I would have liked, but other than that, there are no complaints from me. We will see how long the coating lasts. One of the mirrors in this batch (prepared by someone else) came back with a stain under the coating as if a puddle of tap water was allowed to sit on the mirror. The stain was a annulus about 4 inches in diameter and 1/16 inch wide. QSP said the stain must have been there before they got it and that it was undetected durring, and unaffected by, their pre-coating washing (in acetone I think it was). It was only visible after the aluminum went on. They said the stain would have to be polished out, and offered to recoat the mirror for free if the owner wanted to do that.
They were readying a new 60" vacuum chamber when I was there. (In case you are wondering if your mirror will fit. Plan ahead.:-)
