Welcome Mike, glad you joined us. I have tried to work a 3" mirror and had a whale of a lot of trouble. Am now doing a 5.5" for a solar scope and have doug a fairly deep hole in the center while polishing. The end result is an 8" is probanly the easiest to start on, but a friend made a beautiful 10" with out much testing, just doing what the book said to. When He got it to Chabot, Paul Zurakowski tested it and said it _probably_ was a 1/10 wave. Heck, who knows, I do know it gives great images.

Wish you luck,

Bob
