Welcome Mike, glad you joined us. I have tried to work a 3" mirror and
had a whale of a lot of trouble. Am now doing a 5.5" for a solar scope
and have doug a fairly deep hole in the center while polishing. The end
result is an 8" is probanly the easiest to start on, but a friend made a
beautiful 10" with out much testing, just doing what the book said to.
When He got it to Chabot, Paul Zurakowski tested it and said it
_probably_ was a 1/10 wave. Heck, who knows, I do know it gives great images.
