So ok Steve, you ran a good test. I like those desk-top experiements!
Really do. I can remember when I mixed up some sillycone we were using
for potting differential transformers for feedback position measuring
(suck in air outa breath on that one) with lead solder of the coil and
leads. I ran a quickie where I suspended a pair of soldered wires over
cured sillycone. In a week the solder was disolved. Now I have to admitt
that some sillycone is cured with differrent ingredients. I this case it
was 2-hexaethyleonate (or something like that). The chemists and GE
couldn't solve that one until I displayed my experiement. The moral?
Watch out for sillycone unless it is in your bathroom.
Hope nobody gets on ma case because it wasn't directly atm, but I just
