Yes; this is one of several reasons why I ignore the alcohol step and go with water and soap only.

I do prop the mirror up at an angle for final rinse. Never had a problem with water spotting - never. I use warm water - it always runs right off and never 'sticks' to the coating.

My position is: why use the alcohol when it is an extra unnecessary step?
