Pitch lap.

Well I just poured the pitch lap for the mirror for homegrown scope number 3 (8" f/7). However it came out a little thin, approximately 1/8" to 3/16" (it did spread out evenly over the entire surface of the tool though).

My question is: is this too thin or should I pour another layer on top? I expect that when I put the grooves in it (12 gauge wire heated over flame then placed on the lap, then trimmed) that I might go all the way down to the PYREX.

Boy that lap stuff is sticky!
