Mitch:I made my first lap by making a thin cardboard "dam" arround the
tool,sticking up about a half inch above the tool and coated lightly with
vegetable oil to prevent sticking. I then poured the melted pitch on the
tool,using the entire container. When it was just cool enough to make a mark
with my thumb nail I cut the channels with a razor blade.Be sure to off
center the middle square.
BTW if you decide to do this you can just reheat the pitch you have.
