Re: [ATM] BVC Mirror Blanks
The BVC blanks are nice. They are a bit softer than pyrex so
they will grind faster by a small margin.
I had one guy that got a 12.5" blank in the pregenerated form and
it was pretty nice for finish so it took only a short while to
get through the grits.
I'd go for it.

Subject: [ATM] BVC Mirror Blanks
Hey Everyone!
Hope everyone is well. I have a question and am in need of
the lists
advice. I am planning to do a 16" mirror this summer. With the
current lack
of Pyrex prices of a blank in this size are well over a thousand
dollars. So
I have decided to use BVC for this mirror. Is AJ's Telescopes a
good
supplier for these blanks? They seem to be the main one I can
find on the
internet. A 16" blank is only 450$ which is less than ½ the cost
of a Pyrex
blank at present. Has anyone order a blank from them, and what
didi they
think when it came to customer service, and most importantly, the
quality of
the blank?
Thanks in advance!
Mitchell
