Re: [ATM] 6-pole



Hi Rob.
I went with a 6 pole on my 18" scope years ago.  I followed the lead of
Greg Babcock on his truss attachments on his 24".  Two of the sets of
poles are "hinged" at the top allowing the poles to dodge the light path.
It is doable without oversizing the mirror box.

I liked the weight savings and that was all I was after.  I never put a
shroud on, traded the scope for 24" optics before I needed to cross that
bridge.  But I will say, with the minimal weight savings and slightly
faster setup, I ended up reverting to 8 pole on my 24".
