I think my spacing must have been off because I did eventually see fringes
with an ordinary fluorescent.  Once I used newspaper instead of the leftover
specs of shellac they were apparent.  I think the newspaper actually
increased the air gap.

The thing that is sort of nice about the fluorescent is that since I am
using a digital camera with FringeXP, I can just use whatever color channel
that I want in the color picture that I take.  It's really neat to flip from
red to green to blue and see the fringe spacing and position shift from the
different emission lines.
