[ATM] Hi resolution interferometry of mirror surface

I have been working at getting high resolution surface
data from my home made interferometer and software. I
thought some might like to see my latest progress.

This is of a 6 inch F4 cassegrain mirror of unknown
origin that Ken Hunter lent me.

The box around the mirror is the 1/4 wave limit. Many
bumps exceed that. The very edge and center hole
surface detail is not real and an artifact of my test
system.

This was a lot of work to produce but the kind of
interferometer I used (Bath) is easy to make by most
ATM's for about $100.

I could see very little of this surface detail in a
Foucault image. I have an 8 inch with some surface
roughness that does show up in Foucault. I will try
that next to see if the detail matches.

On a different topic.
Ken loaned me the mirror to see how much it might
deflect when supported by the middle hole. The mirror
is 1 inch thick. I can see no deformation caused by
self weight from the center support.
