Re: [ATM] start...tool....
Richard,
The 50/50 mix will penetrate about 1/4" into the plaster, it will
toughen it a bit, not much but as water proofing it works great, just
have to remember that if you scratch the varnished area deeply you
should re-varnish it, although I haven't found this (a deep scratch in
the tool) to cause me any problems if I don't re-varnish, but then again
I don't use a huge amount of water when I work, a few drops here and
there as needed, and a though rinse between grits with a days drying
seems to work for me.
The real reason for my stingy use of water is that where I live we are
not on a reticulated water supply, we depend on collected rain water (we
have about 11,000 imperial gallons in storage) for the house potable
supply, but my use isn't really "approved" of by the everyone here, so I
use as little as I can get away with;)
For fine grinding (600 grit to 5 microns) and polishing I used distilled
water that I buy from the local supermarket, about 4L per grit,
polishing it's 2L per session as needed....
Well enough for now.
Thomas.

That's an interesting recipe... I'll have to try that; epoxy is such a
hassle to work with.
