I should have pointed out that it is MOT long strokes near center over
center that are the main cause of the paranoia about TDE. Too much of it
will cause over correction near the edge. That would be the center of the W
doing that if you were using that parabolizing stroke. 

 

If someone working MOT were to get up the nerve to try long strokes, they
could easily reason something like....  "Alright, I'll try it. But to be
safe, I won't go much to the side. I'll keep it near center over center."

 

To be safe??  How long will it be before he could be talked into using a
long stroke again.
