Re: [ATM] ATM: James's zip file-
Thanks for your note, Richard
All I can say is that you must be a scholar and a gentlemen, too.
If it were not for King Gates, I would not know you, now. I am, however,
extremely grateful to know another gentleman and scholar. But then again,
without King George, I might not know you, either.
Dave
P.S. The British: they had their "Challenger Disaster" in the thirties; put
R-101 in a Google search terms bar, or go here:
http://www.airshipsonline.com/
They built the world's MOST ADVANCED AIRLINER, and then, through GROSS
CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE, guaranteed its destruction, with passengers aboard, on
its maiden flight to India. The airship was the first of the "giants"; THEY
DOOMED HER WITH THE WRONG KIND OF ENGINES- against the advice of the
competent aeronautical engineers. . She was 777 feet long; the strongest
giant airship ever built- a skeleton of STAINLESS STEEL). Idiots. (Sorry- I
don't mean all Britts are idiots; they did, after all, design the most
advanced airliner of their day; but some other idiots, other than the
engineers, got in the way.) I have an html email that tells the story; ask
for it and ye shall receive).
Dave
P.S.- Michael allows us a lot of tolerance about being "on topic"; so let me
say here, that more often than not, I read amateures talking about the
"parabola". None of us are seeking a "PARABOLA"- that is a two dimensional
figure; we are seeking a REVOLUTION OF THAT SHAPE IN 3-SPACE: A PARABOLOID.
Let us be more precise with "The King's English". (King George, or King
Billy Gates?)- in my Windows Professional XP operating system, the
"dictionary" is appallingly ignorant of common words. Shades of another
Englishman: George Orwell, "1984"- the very thing he predicted: cut down the
vocabulary, for thought control).
