About 15 years ago I was traveling thur NJ and announced to the family 
that we HAD to see Grover's Mill.  I explained War of the Worlds and off 
we went down a road passing mostly suburban homes.  Then, as we arrived 
we were dumbfounded to see a huge glowing orb lifting out of the trees 
ahead.  My heart was pounding until we learned that one of the families 
in the area had hired a hot air balloon for their kids birthday party!

I am such a sucker for sci-fi!
