[ATM] RE: Making Composite Parts and Telescope Tubes
Thanks for the links. While most references I've reviewed describe hanging
the fiberglass onto the tube, the rocketry site shows laying out the
fiberglass on a flat surface, wetting it out, then rolling the fiberglass
onto the tube. http://www.info-central.org/construction_vacuumbagging.shtml
This sounds like more prep work but also more controllable for a large tube.
Anyone made one this way?
Ed

Subject: Making Composite Parts and Telescope Tubes
Hi,
I've been away for a short while but I see that over the past week there are
some questions regarding how to make fiberglass / carbon fiber tubes and
parts. Here are some web sites which I've found to be very insighful on this
topic.

German ATM built 20" scope. Ok not an all composite scope but it sure is a
cool looking scope!
