A joint made from silicone pushes back when you move it to a new angle. You can build the cell onto the mirror, first the triangles, then the bars. But the size of the mirror and cell keeps changing. 

So I'd bet a nickel you will have better luck with bearings. I like very slippery pads, like Teflon, and a slippery sling.
