[ATM] almost heaven star party ATM workshop

The Northern Virginia Astronomy Club is sponsoring its
first honest-to-goodness real-dark-sky star party in
early June, right hard by Spruce Knob, which is
supposedly the location with the darkest skies east of
the Mississippi or something like that. This will be
June 2-5.

They have also asked for workshop presentations. I am
doing one on telescope mirror making (we may present a
little bit on our Lurie-Houghton project, which is a
crazy catadioptric, but I doubt we'll be finished by
then). Pretty basic workshop, which will also include
views of the ronchigram and knife edge as seen through
a vidicam. Will have blanks, grits, laps, polishing
compound, lazy-susans, and so on. Will probably pour a
lap, as well.

Nagesh Kanvindeh will also do a workshop all about the
various optical designs. Again, pretty basic.

If anybody is interested, here is the URL for more
information and to register:

There are some cabins with bunks, and they will serve
food. Or you could rough it and camp out.
