Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings will work....either the "B" or high "E"
strings. Better yet, go to Small Parts Inc. (www.smallparts.com) and
get some stainless steel wire. I have used the 0.013" wire on a number
of spiders and have not had a failure in 30 years. O-SWX-3013 will get
you a 30 ft package. This wire has a listed strength of 40 pounds, but
I have tested it to 90 without breaking it.

Better than black felt is the adhesive backed flocking paper that is
sold by several companies. I bought a big piece of it from ProtoStar,
(www.fpi-protostar.com/) and it has worked exceptionally well.

Add standard disclaimer to above references.
