Thanks.  I got impatient, and posted the manual version of the script before
getting real animation working.  I have now posted a version of the script with
back-and-forth animation of the knife.  You can also move the stage while the
animation is in progress.  I'm a complete beginner at JavaScript, so I would
appreciate any comments from anyone on whether I did the animation properly.

By the way, I experimented with various video formats, including trying to
animate the original 15-pane static challenge.  Nothing has worked nearly as
well as the web animation.  Now that I have the technique worked out, I will
need to think of some other use for it :-).
