Here <http://www.telescopes.ru/articles/article1.phtml> is a reasonably
detailed description of a design by Klevtsov. The commercial implementation
of this design is generally regarded as not very good, which might or might
not say something about its intrinsic merits.
If Tom Krajci is still around he can probably point you to work Maksutov
did decades ago. Certainly he anticipated most of the possibilities for the
meniscus correctors that are named after him.
