For the effort expended, perhaps a better solution would be to truly think
outside the box and build a wind screen from PVC pipe and plastic tarp. V
shaped pointed toward the wind with the scope inside the V I suspect would
prove quite adequate for most moderate winds.
In reality, the majority of the effect on the scope from the wind will be
caused by the cross-sectional area of the scope presented to the wind.
Consequently, Truss Tubes will be more wind resistant.
