There shouldn't be any changes in the surface, but air pollution films can
be nasty to get rid of. When you washed it, did the water bead up, or flow
of in a sheet leaving no droplets to dry? It may take several washings with
dilute dishwashing detergent alternated with pure isopropyl alcohol washes
to get all film removed.
Just make sure the isopropyl doesn't have any lanolin or other cosmetics in
it since it is most commonly available as "rubbing alcohol"

Besides you can always put it in a tester and check the figure. If
there is significant degradation, you would probably see it under a
Foucault test with a narrow slit. If you can't see it, it probably
doesn't matter.
