Hi Mike,
I know testing with two uncoated mirrors probably won't work. I am going to
find the brightest star in the sky to test on. Basically, I just need to
make sure the primary's edge is okay.  Bench Ronchi testing says it is.
Testing with a 2.4" flat says the primary is okay. But the 2.4" is
undersized.  I am guessing that since I need a 3.125" MA secondary that I
haven't tested the entire mirror.  Perhaps I am wrong.
If star testing with uncoated mirrors doesn't work, I can still send the
secondary flat off to be coated, then finish testing the primary.  It won't
hurt to find out.
I have never successfully set up an artificial star test. It just never
works. I never see anything at the eyepiece.
