I haven't checked their web site lately, but Newport used to have a line
of lightweight blanks (the LWTC and LWC series) in 1 5/8" and 2 1/8"
thicknesses.  For a 24", the weights wouuld be 60 and 78 pounds.  

BTW, the old list I checked shows the 24" as 4" thick and 148 pounds
(Jerry gave those stats for the 26").  The price list I have doesn't
have a quote for the lightweight blanks.
