Re: [ATM] Couder Masks and Zone Testing

The program CouderMask does not use Postscript. It prints directly from
a Windows 95 or higher system to a Windows compatible printer. A mask
for a 150 mm diameter mirror will fit on one page of 8 1/2 x 11 inch
paper. You have to glue it to a suitable backer and cut out the
openings.  (I have been known to use Cheerios box cardboard.}

CouderMask draws it's mask openings as diameter segments, not parallel
arcs. (It even draws neat arc's where the line and curve segments
meet. You don't really have to cut those corner curves exactly. You
can square them off, or just cut a straight diagonal across them.)

CouderMask defaults to using mask openings and effective radii (h sub m
in Texerau) calculated according to the analysis performed by Nils Olof
Carlin http://www.atmsite.org/contrib/Carlin/couder/ This is
probably the best analysis of Couder mask dimensions available easily to
atm's.

CouderMask defaults to drawing masks that are laid out similar to
Texerau's, but there are some options for different layouts.

CouderMask will print out mask dimensions so you have documentation.

CouderMask's author is usually available on this list, or by private
email to answer questions. (Except he will be on the other side of
Pennsylvania this weekend.)
