[ATM] got steel?

Bob May is quite correct. The 6061 is a good grade of alum to work with.
I use a mixture of black thread-cutting oil and kero,60-40,(40%
oil). Also, most alum may be handled like wood. That is,it can be cut with
saws and routers. However always clamp guides to part while ripping or
routing.Use straight kero to avoid sticky chips. On a similar metals
topic, how are steel prices in your town? All trades relying on steel are
telling their customers to think about hoarding. At least in the New
Hampshire area.My wife just returned from a seminar last nite. After
she told me about the re-bar shortage, she handed me a local advert.section
for our local Agway. It said that steel related items will be priced on a
day-to-day basis.Because of the shortage. We are lucky here being so close
the Canada, and our mts still have plenty of iron in them.
regards,Ron
