The price of optical glass is generally given in dollars per pound.
I got a quote from Newport about 10 years ago for a price of about $8 a
pound back then.  I'd suspect that the price has gone up from then.
In addition, the varuous suppliers generally add on some additional costs to
make the glass to the shape you desire.
I recently got two pieces of glass 6" in diameter and 1/4" thick from
Newport and paid $30 each for them, including shipping, blanchard grinding
of both sides to flat and edging to 6" +/- 0.010" of diameter.
