ATM Stacking (not bonding) Blank
I've been thinking about flexture of a 16" to 20" X 3/4" thick piece of
Dave Bross plate glass and had an idea along the lines of stacking (not
bonding) two 3/4" pieces in the mirror cell to give the mirror substrate
some beef to support the AL surface. The two pieces could contract or expand
independently of one another, without the sheering type deformation and
bubbles caused by some bonding agents.
If the two pieces were stacked, marked for alignment, and taped and the
mirror groung and figured TOT...
This would reduce the cost of mirror glass if it is feasible. Would it
reduce any flexture problems? Is it worth a try?
Any thoughts?
OK,... SHOOT!
