Re: ATM Our tester is working..........yippee

Sounds like you have a turned down edge on the one mirror. The way you tell
if it's up or down is which way the hooks go relative to the rest of the
curve. If the curve direction changes, then it's turned up while if the
direction of the curve just gets stronger then it's turned down.
Now that you have the tester working, get the numbers off of the two mirrors
with a nice Couder mask and the use of TEX for reducing the numbers. You
will find out that the bad mirror does indeed probably have a strong TDE and
that's why it never looks as good. Applying a mask to the mirror to remove
the TDE part from reflecting the light back will make it perform a lot
better. You might also find that it's not a good parabaloid anyway tho.
TEX will plot out the masks that your zone measurements want in postscript
format to a file which you can send to a printer as the raw data (not as a
text file) for the postscript printer. If you send it as text (it really is
a text file tho) then you will see all of the commands as the program
sending it out will be enclosing all that data into the postscript data.
I usually do it by going to DOS and doing a: < COPY FILE.PS LPT1: > and
that sends the data to the printer.
