At some Hardware stores they will let you borrow the manual tile cutters.
Actually you leave a deposit, and then get a full refund when you bring it
back.. They allow you to scribe a straight line, and then snap the tile
along that line. It work pretty good for me, and I had some very hard 3
inch tiles, my wife was using for a home project.
I had already tried a carbide hack-saw -- (hack-saw got very hot, but very
slow progress), nippers, glass cutter, jigs etc, nothing would cut this
stuff reliably where I wanted it to break. Even a hammer had a hard time!
But the tile cutter tool worked pretty reliably. At least 3 out of 4 cuts
worked first time..
