I bought a 12X12 porcelain tile to cut-up for facing a
plaster tool and was defeated.

Tile-cracking pliers were useless, scoring and
whacking with a brick chisel and hammer was useless,
scoring and clamping over a fulcrum was useless.

I gave up tying to cut the stuff and bought some 2"
ceramic tiles (much thinner).

How do you cut porcelain without a tile saw?
