FWIW, could you set your outgoing mail to "plain text?"  The font your mailer
is using is *huge* and it's surprisingly hard to read.

BTW, if you search for the Metal Web News, there's an optical pyrometer that's
cheap to implement.  The hard part is calibrating it, but a friendly heat
treating shop might be willing.  (Optical pyros use a calibrated current
through a lightbulb.  With a a stable current source you can get very
repeatable values.  Note that the heats have to be red or hotter.
