    In case anyone's interested, here's what the pros do (I work at a high 
end custom furniture and cabinet shop): glue and screw. And use invisible 
screws.

    Actually, invisible screws aren't so difficult to avail one's self of; 
with a little ingenuity and careful planning, screws may be placed where they 
won't be seen unless you're really looking for them.
