I have not been following this thread so this may already have been
mentioned. Where joints are concerned, I have found that a plate joiner is
the best woodworking investment I ever made. A plate joiner provides two
important benefits: The biscuits make a snug fit and allow easy dry assembly
so you can check everything before applying the glue. This also means no
more needing an extra hand when trying to assemble that first corner. The
most important benefit, though, is that the plate joiner system, by
definition, defines where the edges line up and ensures that the corners will
meet where you intended them to meet. The joints are also very strong.
