I've been working on an 18" BVC mirror for the last year and a half, I've gotten it to the polishing stage and everything looks great, no problems and it's taking the polish smooth and even (I'm using polishing pads for the initial polish and will move to a Pitch lap for the figuring).
All in all I recomend the BVC.
