Re: ATM - "Single Strength" glass




The thickness of windowpane glass is, for some silly reason, listed as
"strength" which is about 1/8" of thickness.  Thus double strength glass is
about 1/4" thick and so on.  At some point, they stop trying to call it by
strength and use a more normal inch thickness.
Probably somebody else has a better idea of why the word "strength" got used
for the thickness of glass.
