The "CAM" of choice is probably the Philips Vesta Pro.
You can also get good results with an ordinary Hi-8 vidcam.
The qcuiag or videoastro Yahoo Groups lists cover these two approaches.
Astrostack lets you autoregister and stack AVI or BMP frames and do basic image
processing

Fine for planets, asteroids, or bright Messiers, but for long deep sky
exposures, you still need a cooled CCD camera.

I also see a bit on using a quickcam to do the job. Does this work? Is there a
better version using any of the newer web cams?
