Re: ATM 12 point cell for plop...
My advice to forget PLOP is because the majority of users cannot use the
results in a practical manner. Yes, PLOP is a very good program for what it
does but it does not design cells. I have a 38 inch mirror and used PLOP
to generate a 54 point cell. I found the resulting points of flotation
almost random in their location and thus the construction of a cell looked
mighty complicated. Making a 54 point cell based on 18 points is very easy
to construct. 54 points on a 38 inch mirror is more than adequate and the
wavefront difference between PLOP and a "standard" mirror cell would be
virtually indistinguishable.

Why the advice to forget PLOP? It is a very good program. For Jacks mirror
a
12 points cell is OK (and so is an 18 points of course).
